About
Nu-Metal Pioneers Limp Bizkit Live in Abu Dhabi
Led by inimitable musician, actor, and filmmaker Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit are widely credited with pioneering the nu metal movement by blending aggressive hardcore rock with raw rap vocals. Since forming in Jacksonville, Florida in 1994, the band has become a global phenomenon, selling millions of records and leaving an undeniable mark on modern music culture.
Now returning to their classic 1996 line-up — Durst on vocals, Wes Borland on guitar, Sam Rivers on bass, and John Otto on drums, with DJ Lethal often spinning behind the deck — Limp Bizkit are ready to bring their iconic sound to the UAE live music scene.
Best known for their abrasive lyrics, heavy riffs, and unforgettable stage presence, Limp Bizkit’s name itself was chosen to repel the mainstream — but the result was quite the opposite. Their 1997 debut album, Three Dollar Bill Y’All, produced by Ross Robinson (Korn, Slipknot), gained a cult following thanks to aggressive originals and unexpected cover versions of George Michael’s Faith and Paula Abdul’s Straight Up.
Their 1999 sophomore release Significant Other catapulted the band into the global spotlight, delivering nu metal anthems like Nookie and Break Stuff. A year later, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water confirmed their superstardom, with Rollin’ topping the UK charts and follow-up singles My Generation, My Way, and Boiler earning them spots in the top 20. That same year, Limp Bizkit were nominated for three Grammy Awards and picked up three MTV Europe Music Awards, including Best Group and Best Album. A remix of Rollin’ was even featured on the soundtrack of The Fast and the Furious.
Despite line-up shifts and a brief hiatus, Limp Bizkit continued to evolve. Their 2003 album Results May Vary and 2005’s The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) kept fans on their toes. After regrouping in 2009 for the Unicorns N’ Rainbows Tour, they released Gold Cobra in 2011 — and once again took their high-octane show on the road.
In 2021, after a decade-long wait, Limp Bizkit made a powerful return with Still Sucks — an album packed with everything fans love about the band. Featuring the viral single Dad Vibes, unveiled live during their Lollapalooza set.
